While MOP’s Chris has long since taken over the column, I used to write the Choose My Adventure series because I honestly liked having a regular reason to try something new. No, really; it’s very easy for me to coast along playing the same couple of games forever, and there’s a whole world of other games out there that having an outside push to play could help me get into. Ironically, that was also when I wound up trying one of the games that is now on that list of “the couple of games I play,” so it clearly worked out well for me.
Obviously, most of our readers do not have a poll dictating their actions. But what motivates you to try out an MMO you haven’t played before? Do you just read about it and think that it looks fun? Do yo get swept up in a community push? Read blog posts about it? Download it from Steam and roll a die?
Every morning, the Massively Overpowered writers team up with mascot Mo to ask MMORPG players pointed questions about the massively multiplayer online roleplaying genre. Grab a mug of your preferred beverage and take a stab at answering the question posed in today’s Daily Grind!
