Aw man, this sucks right before Christmas: Supervive is calling it quits in 2026.
“I’m here to share that we’ll be sunsetting Supervive early next year,” Theorycraft’s Jess Nam says today. “This wasn’t an easy decision for us to make – we know Supervive has a core community who really loves what it has to offer, and our team loves working on it too.” No need to rely on the game’s low population to tell the story; Nam says it explicitly:
“As time has gone on, it’s become clear that our changes haven’t been effective enough, and bringing in new players has only gotten harder. Although we’ve seen a huge number of people download and try Supervive, most of them move on after their initial time with the game. Supervive is an ambitious, and expensive, game to support, so as player counts have dropped, we’re faced with the difficult reality that maintaining the game is not sustainable for us.”
That means today’s 2.04 patch (and its Prisma Party game mode and final skins) is the last for the game. The game itself will close in February. Players are invited to apply for refunds on recent purchases.
There’s a little good news, however: Theorycraft is apparently working on another game already that is “squarely in the space between indie and AAA.”
