007 First Light Extended Operations: New Game+, Photo Mode and a March 2027 Switch 2 Date

IO Interactive released Extended Operations, a free update for 007 First Light, on October 1, 2026. It adds New Game+, a tougher difficulty and Photo Mode, and the studio has since set a March 2027 date for the Switch 2 version. Here is what is included.

What Extended Operations adds

According to the studio’s patch notes, as reported by PlayNews, Extended Operations shipped as game update 1.3.0 at 12:00 UTC on October 1 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC. It is completely free and includes:

• New Game+: replay the campaign with a new challenge, including a 00 difficulty.
• Photo Mode: capture shots of the game’s locations and characters.
• Two new TacSim activities: Valhalla Protocol and Jungle Heist.
• New weapons and outfits.
• More than 700 fixes across all platforms.

Switch 2 version: March 18, 2027

IO Interactive and Amazon MGM Studios announced on October 14 that 007 First Light will launch on Nintendo Switch 2 on March 18, 2027, according to Nintendo World Report and God Is a Geek. Pre-orders opened the same day on the Nintendo Store, Amazon.com and selected retailers. Insider Gaming lists the Deluxe Edition at $69.99, with pre-orders including an exclusive GoldenEye suit for Bond. The Switch 2 version was originally planned for summer 2026, and a September 15 update from the studio moved it to March 2027, with the extra time going toward performance tuning.

Other post-launch updates

• PC path tracing: Gaming.net lists path tracing among the earlier updates added to the game.
• Sales: Insider Gaming reports the game passed 4 million copies sold in August.
• June 6: IO Interactive shared its Year One roadmap, which also listed a new mission featuring Bawma, the Pirate King. No release date for that mission has been confirmed in the coverage we reviewed.

What it means for players

The update is free, so it is a good reason for owners to come back, and New Game+ with 00 difficulty gives the campaign extra replay value. Nintendo players now have a firm date to plan around. The game launched on May 27, 2026, and you can read more on the 007 First Light game page on GameGood.
