Cyberpunk 2077 Update 2.5 Is Live: Dual-Wielding, Edgerunners 2 Quest and Mod Support

CD Projekt RED’s free Edgerunners 2 Update (Update 2.5) for Cyberpunk 2077 launched on October 22, 2026, timed with the Netflix debut of Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2. The update adds a new side quest, a dual-wielding playstyle, customizable hand cyberware and cross-platform mod support. Here is what the developer’s patch notes say.

Release date and platforms

Update 2.5 is free. It released on October 22 on PC (Steam, GOG and Epic Games Store), PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. CD Projekt RED says the Nintendo Switch 2 version and the Mac App Store version will receive it “in the days to follow”, and the patch notes give no exact date for those.

What’s new in Update 2.5

• Clampdown side quest: a new Edgerunners-themed quest set before the events of Edgerunners 2. You unlock it after completing The Heist and two gigs for Wakako, and it rewards a five-piece gear set based on King.
• New radio station: HKGN 102.0 FM, with songs from Cyberpunk: Edgerunners.
• Dual-wielding: a new Double Trouble perk in the Cool tree lets V use two Power-category pistols or revolvers at once, with matching Photo Mode poses.
• Cyberware customization: hand cyberware can be customized at Glamdocs around Night City.
• More quests and exploration: a guided Night City tour called Welcome to Paradise, narrated by Richard Night (unlocked after The Heist and at 15 Street Cred), plus 12 hidden Minor Arcana Tarot Cards to find.
• Fashion and Photo Mode: five new outfit sets from clothing vendors, with a sixth coming later, and frames from the Cyberpunk Trading Card Game for Photo Mode. Four new Quadra Turbo-R V-Tech skins are available through Twitch Drops.
• Cross-platform mod support: powered by mod.io. Saves made with mods get their own icon in the Load Game menu, and achievements and trophies cannot be earned on console while playing from a modded save.
• Quality of life: saves are grouped by playthrough, home and vehicle stashes have item filters, and consoles get a field-of-view slider.

What it means for players

Dual-wielding is the headline gameplay change, and mod support is the biggest platform change, since it works across PC and consoles. If you play with mods on console, remember the trophy restriction on modded saves. Because the patch is free, existing owners do not need to buy anything to get the new quests and systems.
