Modern Warfare 4 Launch Maps and Modes: What Is Available on Day One

By JamaicanKyddUpdated

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 launched on October 23, 2026 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC and Nintendo Switch 2. According to the official Call of Duty Blog, multiplayer starts with a large lineup of maps and more than a dozen modes, with extra content following in the first weeks. Here is the breakdown.

Launch maps

  • 12 Core 6v6 maps, including Transit 213 and Cachette. Activision describes all 12 as new maps.
  • 3 Ground War maps for 32v32 battles, including Imjin Farmland.
  • 4 Gunfight maps for 2v2, including Cafe.
  • Kill Block, a modular battleground that supports 3v3 and 10v10 Gunfight.

Launch modes

Activision lists over a dozen multiplayer modes at launch, spread across Standard, Alternate and Hardcore variants. Inflation is a new mode, and a Mobility Course is available to help you learn the movement system. Hardcore rules use a limited HUD, friendly fire, and reduced health with no regeneration. Dot Esports also lists Hijack, Counter Attack, Collateral and Ground War: Combat Outpost among the launch modes.

What arrives after launch

  • October 27: Shipment, the small harbor map, arrives.
  • October 29: Possession, a Halloween-themed featured mode.
  • October 30: the Infected mode returns.
  • November 6: Season 1 begins for both Modern Warfare 4 and Warzone.

These dates come from the pre-season roadmap Infinity Ward posted on October 14, as reported by Gfinity Esports, Timesaver and AllThings.how. The start time for Season 1 has not been announced.
